General Board Rules
1. All players are created equal. Don’t insult, discriminate, or otherwise antagonize other members. If someone’s done something to make you mad, take your grievances to the staff, not the other members.
1b. Do not argue, backtalk, or otherwise antagonize the staff! This is a huge offense and is likely to get you banned. If you feel you are being treated unfairly by any staff member, then come to me. Otherwise you will be held accountable for your actions. Respect staff members, no ifs, ands, or buts.
2. I’m not going to punish anyone for occasional light swearing, but just remember that this is NOT an adults-only board and there will likely be some young kids on here. If you decide to make every other word in your sentence something unsuitable for children under the age of 14, then you will likely be warned by a staff member.
3. Do not double-post. Ever. Accidents happen, but I don’t want to see things like “Hey does anyone want to play a game?” then three seconds later another post saying “Come on I’m bored” or something like that. It’s irritating and it doesn’t make you any less bored. So just don’t do it.
In-Character Posting
3b. Don’t double post in the roleplaying forums either! If you’re bored, it’s not going to help if you start roleplaying with yourself. People are busy, give them a chance to reply. All double-posting will be punishable by post deletion (possibly both posts) and a private warning.
4. Do not god mode, power play, or anything else of that nature. Don’t control someone else’s characters unless they have given you express permission to do so, in which case you must make an OOC note in your post saying you have permission. Otherwise, big no-no. This includes their horses as well as their humans.
5. This is not a free-for-all roleplay. I’ll put this bluntly: if you don’t have basic grammar skills and/or know how or are willing to use a spell-check, then we don’t want you. I know it sounds harsh, but trust me, it’s not hard to use a spell check; there’s even one built right into proboards! All you have to do is click the little button before you submit your post.
5b. Chat speak is intolerable. Don’t use it. Period. I’ll thank you not to use it at all, not even OOC.
6. Do not run away with threads! This consists of two people posting back-to-back in a thread involving more than those two people. If you are involved in this kind of thread, take turns and give others a chance to post! This is one of, if not my BIGGEST pet peeve. If you’re caught doing this, you jeopardize the entire thread as well as your membership here. So don’t. Just don’t.
Keep checking back here; it is very likely the rules will be updated as we get more members who do things that irritate us =P
